One in Eleven North Dakotans are employed in transportation.

General freight will comprise 39.6% of all primary shipments by weight in 2017, up from 37.8% in 2005.
Bulk freight tonnage will account for 60.4% of all primary shipments by 2017, down from 62.2% in 2005.
